Anything But Books Tag

I was tagged by the amazing Lola at Lola Et La Vie. Check out her blog if you haven’t yet :).sailor moon.jpg

Name a cartoon that you love.

Sailor Moon! I’ve been obsessed ever since I was six or seven. I LOVE that Sailor Moon is about girls who kick butt. It will always be one of my favorite shows.

What is your favourite song right now?

Ugh this is so hard. It’s also a little embarrassing, but I really like Miley Cyrus, especially Malibu. I just love the sound of it. It’s a beautiful song.

What could you do for hours that is not reading?

Write. I love writing. And play Sims 4 or Stardew Valley, which is why I hardly turn on my husband’s PS4/Switch anymore.

What is something that you do that your followers would be surprised by?

Honestly, I’m pretty boring nowadays because I live out in the middle of nowhere. But I really enjoy hiking, especially in more mountainous areas.

What is your favourite, unnecessary thing to learn about?

I honestly like to learn about everything and anything.  I’ll just start reading about really random crap, just because I’m interested. Sometimes I like to read about mythology and folk lore, sometimes I like to learn about how people lived in like the medieval ages or whatever. I’m also really interested in Russian history. I find Russia, honestly, fascinating.

What is something unusual you know how to do?

I know some Russian. That’s unusual, right?

Name something you have made in the last year.

I wrote three short stories, if that counts. I’m not really a crafter. I know how to sew, but I don’t, and that’s the limit of my craftiness. I love writing though.

What is your most recent personal project?

I’m working on a new book. It’s in the pre-planning stages, and I’m still world building, but I’m pretty excited about it.

Tell us something you think of often.

Quitting my job. Like every day. I’m a teacher, and I’ve never felt more burned out.  I’m going to become another statistic after this year. I think it’s something like 20% or so of new teachers quit within the first five years. When I went into the profession, I never thought I would be part of that number. But honestly, the only thing keeping me “going” this year is knowing that I’m not coming back next year. It’s liberating.

Tell us something that is your favourite, but make it oddly specific.

A cup of Whole Foods 365 Night Owl coffee with a few drops of half and half, and half a packet of the Target brand peppermint hot chocolate.

I know this lame to do, but i haven’t been around the book blogging community for very long, so I’m going to tag anyone who wants to do this tag to do it :).
